KATAKLYSM: Interview, Concert Footage To Air On 'Rebel Access' TV
June 29, 2007Canadian death metallers KATAKLYSM will be the featured band on this Sunday's (July 1) "Rebel Access" TV, which airs at 10:00 p.m. on Channel 19 all over the Chicagoland area. The program will include an interview with frontman Maurizio Iacono along with concert performance footage shot at the The Pearl Room in Mokena, IL. In the interview Maurizio explains that the sound of KATAKLYSM comes from four different guys listening to different types of music. "If we all liked the same bands, we would end up sounding like that band," he said. "It's boring when a band releases a record and every track sounds the same. Listen to the first two songs and close the CD." Maurizio goes into detail about how important the fans' influence is to a band like KATAKLYSM. "I think the fans know how important they are to us. Other bands may say we'll write what we want, we don't care what other people think. My response to that is, 'If you're gonna do that, just play in a garage for yourself. If you're gonna put records out for everyone then they should be involved.' Our fans are involved in the whole thing, They are the boss of this band. This band has gone through a lot of hard times and the fans have always prevailed for us. They always come out to support us. So now the record labels have no choice but to support us, 'cause of the fans there to buy their records. So it's all about the fans."
"Rebel Access" features a band one week and plays the hardest "in-your-face" music videos in Chicago the next week.
